I was thinking more of one of the schools logos turned in to a silhouette.

Would rather have something thats already been approved by the University.

something like this in a silhouette (or grayscale)... if the University has produced anything of the sort. Otherwise Ill just use one I already had from google image search.

Photochop it yourself and you could be smacked with a lawsuit.

Take something they produced and follow the usage guidelines and youll be okay.

if you take NCSU's logo, or anything similar, and start using it while you're making money (as a logo for a business) then there's gonna be an issue.

yes, it is indeed illegal to use the university's logo on something that was not previously authorized.

and no, it would not be acceptable to use the logo on your website.
