My tags were 3 weeks out of date and I got a ticket last night for it.

What should I do about this ticket? I heard you could just go to the court house/Da's office anytime and show them your proof of new registration and you're done. I thought I would have to go to court on the court date and present it to the DA.

yeah, usually that's just a "fix it" ticket. get it taken care of, show up on your court date with the proof, and that's it.

as someone who has done this many many times (i'm thinking like 6) yes - all you have to do is get it taken care of, show up to your court date show the ADA your registration and you are done. Also, in NC they normally do not make you pay court costs or anything (unlike city of Atlanta where the assholes do make you drop $120)

did you do something to piss off the cop? I got pulled over for my tags being a month out of date earlier this year and only got a verbal warning...

does the same thing apply for an inspection ticket?

I got pulled for my tags being out of date and the cop also gave me an inspection infraction on the same ticket. The total fine is $25 with an additional $120 in court costs

I was pulled for both once (my license was also expired but I guess she went easy on me).

I fixed the problem, went to court on my court date, showed him they were up to date, he scribbled some shit on my ticket and said have a nice day.
