Album is finished, now in studio's hands

Quote :
"Guns N' Roses have completed their new album, "Chinese Democracy", amid claims that Axl Rose is to star in a new reality TV show. The legendary hard rock act have been working on the record for almost 15 years, but the wait is apparently nearly over. Last month, there were rumours that Axl had played the finished recordings to label executives, who spoke enthusiastically about it. According to reports, Geffen Records are now in possession of the album and are in discussions with the band's frontman about the release. Meanwhile, it has now been suggested that Rose will mark the long-awaited unveiling of the record with a "revealing" TV programme. Media speculation suggests "a major music-orientated television channel" have been in discussions with him about the behind-the-scenes show. A 'source' said: "There is a lot of footage to choose from. Some of it is incredibly personal and revealing about Axl's life." There remains no official release date for "Chinese Democracy""

Wasn't there something about free Dr. Pepper for everyone in the country if this thing released in 2008? That would be pretty funny if it actually happened.

^^Umm, UYI I & II are two totally badass albums. Even better than AFD in my opinion.

Sorry to question the band's relevance.

I love AFD and UYI x2 aswell and will totally buy (steal from interhax) this when it drops.

I just find myself equally as enthusiastic about my free Dr. Pepper

yadda yadda

I'd take any pretty much any album from bands like soundgarden or alice in chains over something supposedly as great as use your illusion anyways

hell nirvana was shitty compared to other grunge bands and they still put gnr out of business

and does anyone actually think this album is going to be true to their music anyways? I'm not even sure use your illusion was since it focused on these overblown dramatic rock songs

the part where Slash comes out of the water is the most glorious moment ever captured on film

I didn't mean to try and offend you Nerdchick. I've just noticed all the hippie shit you and your SO do, and I thought you guys would listen to Phish or Widespread Panic.

You know, some creepy music to listen to before you play some frisbee golf

ha ha ha, no Phish for me. I prefer bands that actually write songs. it shows they care, you know?

TheBullDoza likes Grateful Dead though. but if you skip the 10 minute washboard solos their stuff is pretty good

the majority of the songs on UYI I & II were written at the same time as the Appetite for Destruction songs

that's not entirely true. some had been written back then, others while touring, but the majority were written later on.

i fucking love estranged...was bummed when they didn't play it in greensboro last year (or whenever that was)

and why can't you like multiple types of music and appreciate them for what they are

as much as i love gnr, I also love listening to phish's junta albums

I like soundgarden (though not as much as GnR). Alice in Chains is about on the same level as GnR (i.e., top shelf, favorite bands of all time).

and yeah, i think this album will likely suck.

Somehow I doubt this will happen, but if so, that's un fucking believeable. I find it extremely amusing that Chinese Democracy has taken this long to come out. It's like Chinese Democracy is never going to happen, in China or in the music world. Amusing likenesses FTW

part of the reason it's taking so long is Axl's nutcase antics

example - he has his guru do a psychic evaluation of everyone involved in the album. if the person fails, they're fired
