Weezer.

Green is fun if you take it as it is.

"Love Explosion" has a really great chorus.

Make Believe has a meta song title that makes me laugh ("This is Such a Pity").

weezer was probably going to be one of my picks for sure.

ill add foo fighters too. im not even sure why i keep getting all their albums, i havent really loved one of their albums past several records back. but there is always 1 or 2 really catchy rock songs that i enjoy from each of their new albums.

I would have said Against Me if they didn't put out New Wave. I just couldn't find any redeeming qualities when I borrowed that album, so I didn't even bother to burn it.

i love everything he's done. saw him a couple of days ago at the norva, and he played stuff off his new album and it's great. can't wait for its release. more upbeat than songs for silverman.. reminds me a lot of BFF stuff

I may get attacked for saying this, but I will anyway:
Dave Matthews Band

Taken as a whole, Everyday is mediocre at best and Stand Up pretty much sucks. But each has two or three songs that are still quality tracks.

i know we'll never agree but that was their most boring and contrived effort to date. I guess I might place it ahead of their self titled simply because 'jimmy eat world' is so unpolished and came out 14 years ago. But clarity, futures, static prevails, and even chase this light all blow that album out of the water. thats a pretty common concensus among any jimmy fans i know.

even jimmy says he wasnt proud of that record musically, and thus only plays 1 to 3 songs from BA live while he will still play 4-6 songs live off clarity from '99.

^^ i don't mind BA, but clarity is a muuuuuuch better album. i haven't really kept up with JEW like i probably should have, so i'm more familiar with their older albums.

ADD: green day is another one of these bands. and i mean this more in the sense that i'll atleast listen to their cds no matter what. as big a fan as i was in middle school and high school, pretty much up until the album after nimrod came out, makes me curious to see what songs they have that aren't getting played out. i can't say that i enjoy their most recent stuff as much. but i'll atleast check it out.

Metallica, but I really wasn't able to do it with St. Anger. I liked the Unamed Feeling so I guess that counts.

i guess ill add death cab. even though i love all their releases until transatlanticism, their last 2 albums (trans and plans) were weak compared to their older stuff. but there were a handful of songs on each that it was impossible to not enjoy listening to / avoid getting stuck in your head.

and even though both the last 2 have disappointed overall, im still looking forward to the new one.

i'm gonna go ahead and put radiohead out there. i like all their albums (sans pablo honey) a lot. but i imagine i'll continue to buy their releases even if they start to slip a little.

modest mouse also kinda fits in this mold for me (though i never did buy their most recent)

I found a couple of songs on St. Anger to be tolerable.

Although I don't know if I could say there was anything I "love" about it.
