cause i filed my federal taxes a long time ago, and used the info from that and went ahead and penciled in my state tax forms just to make sure i didnt owe any (to make sure i didnt need to send them a check)

so for some reason i thought i had done it, then i realized that the form was just done in pencil

i mean it only took a few minutes to copy it over. but still.

speaking of taxes, this girl was telling me a story at the BUTT HUTT the other day. she spent 79 bucks to get her taxes done, and she was IRATE because she only got a total of 40 dollars back.

i asked her if she thought it was worth the time she saved. she said "yeah but i lost money on it"

fucking imbecile.

with your return you should get digital cable and long distance phone calls (to even puerto rico) for 29.95 a month each

i could have got a lot more back. looks like i could have claimed all the property tax i paid, and all the interest i paid on student loans and all that (even though i paid those whole fuckers off last year!)

so i could have deducted a couple few thousand more in income with various loopholes or whatever. but i just put in my w2s and said fuck it.

cause i didnt wanna find all the other bills

clark howard would be sooooo mad at me

i would have done it if it would have been actual money i got back.

its like how i used to think that if you donated to charity you get all that money back. you dont. you just get to subtract some of it from your income and then find your tax in the chart. if it would have actually lowered my bracket or something then maybe it would have been worth it

im gonna get an accountant next year or something. im very happy with my 24 or whatever bucks, "the judge."

My wife and I pay a preparer to do our taxes for us. But it's def. worth it with our jobs, plus all the tax crap related to buying a house last year, and me having my own business...there's no way we'd be able to figure all that shit out. Plus our return was more than what we paid him.

thats my pet peeve. big time. i was so upset (for no reason, i suppose) the last time i heard someone bitching that their refund was only half what they paid to get their taxes done

for most of the people in our age group, you pay the tax guy to save you time, not to make you tons of money

I hate when businesses make money. Pisses me off. Car dealers making a profit, stores making a profit, tax preparer making any money at all.
