why do obama and clinton fight so hard against each other? it has gotten to the point of personal attacks and making up scandals. I'm not familiar with politics at all, I just feel since they both both represent a group of people who have never been the president, they should work together to make the breakthrough instead of trying to beat each other down. they are like competing in special olympics. 4/17/2008 3:04:50 AM |

Yes, if we all worked together in a 1 party system, everything would be better.
And if you disagree with that party, you should be sent to a re-education camp. 4/17/2008 3:09:24 AM |

This is a fairly common type of fight.
No where near the '00 levels of Bush and McCain, with Rove accusing McCain of having an illegitimate black daughter in SC.
Also not as bad as the swift-boating against Kerry in '04. 4/17/2008 3:16:04 AM |

The problem is that there are few policy differences between the two candidates, so the only way for them to distinguish themselves from each other is to attack each other on a personal level. It's essentially become a popularity contest between the two. Obama has the lead in numbers, so he feels no need to back down while Clinton is so ambitious, she is willing to fight to the bitter end. 4/17/2008 12:01:17 PM |

John McCain. 4/17/2008 12:13:28 PM |

ok, why does she HAVE to be the president herself? she needs money or something? or she WANTS the glory and power? I guess either way is valid reason (to show to the public) for being president. 4/17/2008 7:17:57 PM |
