They're pickles, they're about as simple a preserved product as you can get. There's no need to add yellow number 6 and a shit ton of preservatives. Just cucumbers, salt, pickling spices, water and vinegar.

yes. Sorry, should have added that they're organic cukes. At the bare minimum you should get the ones in the refrigerated section instead of buying the Mt. Olive ones off the shelf.
