Recommendations for Calc 3 teacher?
Curves are good for me because i usually do above class average but not that big of a deal. Someone who speaks English with no ridiculous accent. 4/19/2008 1:14:40 AM |

Yes, take Leslie Kurtz, she is a really good teacher. And she isn't terrible to look at either.

hoon hong if he's teaching it...he doesn't fit your requirement of not having an accent(although his isn't ridiculous). but he is understandable, funny, a good instructor, and not difficult. 4/19/2008 10:54:55 AM |

Dr. Moody Chu
hard (yet extremely fair) tests, but the curve is unbelievable
receptive of students
asian accent, but he's very understandable and his english is good

yeah, if you dont plan on taking any math past calc III and dont care about learning anything.
only thing good about him is his tests are really really easy. and he curves. people i know who had him as a teacher said they honestly didnt learn a thing with him teaching though4/20/2008 5:57:08 PM |

I second this. I had her for calc II and III, and I'm taking diff. eq. with her this summer. She teaches at a nice pace, and she's very receptive to questions (both in and after class). I've made an A in both classes, and I'm not a "math person."4/20/2008 10:19:18 PM |

Dr. Capps is worth the 8:05, did maybe every third problem from his hw sets and made a hundred on all of them. You don't want to get stuck with calc 3 webassign... trust me. 4/21/2008 12:14:55 PM |

calc. 3 webassigns were a breeze. if you have any trouble at all you can go to the pmtc and they'll walk you through it anyway. 4/21/2008 12:17:22 PM |

If Fulp is still out there, I recommend him. I learned absolutely nothing in 241, but 242 wasn't bad at all with him. 4/21/2008 1:13:31 PM |

i usually just don't do web assigns if they take more than a fair amount of time. I'd rather just study for other classes or get ahead than waste time getting an extra 1% of my grade. On the other hand if it becomes a regular thing then its not worth losing that much off your final grade just because of webassign...
i guess i'll see next semester. 4/21/2008 2:25:47 PM |

I'm just saying that because I had Moody Chu's Class freshman year, first semester, first class (8:05). Needless to say, had to do freshman retake and got an A with Capps 4/21/2008 3:42:16 PM |
