that really sucks, i cant tell if its about to die. so it sometimes just shuts down.

i mean its good that it does that fancy hibernation stuff and doesnt lose my stuff

but the option to turn it on in taskbar preferences isnt even on anymore (its grayed out)

actually my computer died while i made this thread. thats kinda annoying

there isn't an option in power preferences? i seem to remember something along the lines of this...

or maybe your battery is that dead that it doesn't see it as an ACPI battery

Your computer obviously consumed and absorbed an S2 organ, which removes its dependency upon being plugged in. Your computer effectively has infinite power now.

i never really posted here to find a fix, but i did find one because im so bored and unable to sleep. so just in case anyone ever searches chit chat for random computer questions

apparantly you shoud just erase both the keys (besides default) in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify

and restart explorer.exe

worked for me

I'd agree with you but he said it still shutdown occasionally so it isn't an S2 organ. also never though ti would find another evangelion fan on TDUB
