that really sucks, i cant tell if its about to die. so it sometimes just shuts down.
i mean its good that it does that fancy hibernation stuff and doesnt lose my stuff
but the option to turn it on in taskbar preferences isnt even on anymore (its grayed out)
actually my computer died while i made this thread. thats kinda annoying 4/22/2008 12:04:30 AM |

there isn't an option in power preferences? i seem to remember something along the lines of this...

i think you need to downgrade to XP that should solve the problem. theres a nasty virus called vista going around and it looks like you have it] 4/22/2008 12:27:57 AM |

Your computer obviously consumed and absorbed an S2 organ, which removes its dependency upon being plugged in. Your computer effectively has infinite power now. 4/22/2008 12:37:22 AM |

i never really posted here to find a fix, but i did find one because im so bored and unable to sleep. so just in case anyone ever searches chit chat for random computer questions
apparantly you shoud just erase both the keys (besides default) in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify
and restart explorer.exe
worked for me] 4/22/2008 4:48:42 AM |
