now that that's out of the way. ive been having trouble sleeping lately. i go lay down and right around the time i start to fall asleep, i get these really terrible cramps in my calves. like so bad that i jump right up out of the bed. scared i might accidentally break my leg one day or something
i really hope its not that restless leg syndrome, cause i totally picked on my doctor about having pamphlets all over her office about it last time i was in there
but seriously, what do they say? like... you can ear more... potassium?
would that be bananas?
what else?
as long as i can knock out an hour or so on monday or tuesday, i'll be ok. but after a few days, it really starts to wear on me and i feel (and im sure i look) like a zombie
any other insomniacs have this issue? feels like someone stabs you in the le right when your finally all asleep. the muscle gets super tight and cramped, and then you jump up and hae to keep punching it so it will feel better
omg help

Ok i went on a diet where i ate bananas for breakfast everyday and one with lunch too.. (my own made up diet... i like bananas) but anyway after 2 months of this i went back to cereal and salad... and got HORRIBLE CRAMPS 3 days straight.... needless to say i think I've made my body chemically dependent on bananas.
Moral of this story... i think bananas will fix your problem but don't eat to many... 4/22/2008 7:58:05 AM |

Potassium and Sodium are critical elements for promoting nerve growth. From what little I know, they are both water soluble, so eating too much wont hurt you unless its extreme. You get plenty of salt, so yes, eating more bananas should help you with cramps. Unless its caused by a completely other problem than nutrient deficiency. Then it might not help at all. FYI i was kidding with the banana addiction thing.
I just know my body got used to tons of it and then... it was gone... 4/22/2008 8:06:15 AM |

Yeah, your body gets pissy if you fuck with its normal levels of chemical intake. Just dont try that with fiber (i.e. spinach), its not pleasant. 4/22/2008 8:14:30 AM |

Other than drinking more water and eating bananas, you should try drinking tonic water. It has a lot of Quinine, which helps ease cramps. Technically, it hasn't been approved to treat leg cramps (mostly used in malaria treatments), but I know it helps me. 4/22/2008 8:47:18 AM |
