I have a couple pairs of Lacoste sneakers and they are very nice. I've had them for at least 3 years and they've held up great!!
You can sometimes find them cheaper if you really hunt, but the $100 is well worth it!!! 4/28/2008 8:28:46 AM |

I paid $100 for shoes. They're specially fitted running shoes after my feet and gait were analyzed. I don't think I'd pay more than $50 for regular shoes, but that's just me.

I will never understand why people wear shoes (or clothes) with the producer's corporate logo on them
especially stupid ones like alligators
are you thinking, "now people will know what brands I wear," or, "Yea! now I belong to the clique that wears these"

plenty of companies don't put their logo anywhere (or at least anywhere noticeable) on their products
are ALL of those companies producing somehow inferior products?
is there something magical about putting your logo where everyone can see it that makes the product better?
why is it that this practice almost exclusively occurs with mid-to-high-end clothing and shoes?
("mid-to-high-end" does not mean high-quality)
does anyone actually believe for a second that this isn't simply about bullshit sophistication?
and making clothing and shoe consumers into walking billboard advertising whores?
^^

I'm not pissed off -- why'd you think that?

congrats, idiot
the "world", as you assert, doesn't have an idea of what a logo is or how it should be used
individuals do that, and I, as well as millions of others, apparently disagree with you
oh wait, did you mean "every individual in the world" when you said "world"? yeah, that's rational
stop being so god damn stupid, you fucking troll
I'm expressing a personal opposition to ONE PARTICULAR use of logos (highly visible ones on products, esp. clothes/shoes)
not logos and branding in general

I guess all those people that oppose billboards on the blue ridge parkway are ANTI-LOGO COMMIES

i did...since those shoes look like somebody went into converse's factory, stole a black pair of lowtop chuck taylors, changed the logo to an "anti-logo" and sold them without changing anything else about them4/28/2008 11:26:29 AM |
392 Suspended 2488 Posts user info edit post |
or,
two different shoe producers independently arrived at a similar design for inexpensive yet durable shoes
(again, I'm not affiliated with those guys, so I don't know -- perhaps they wanted to "rip off" chuck taylors)
besides, wouldn't most flip flops then be "rip offs" of the original flip flop?
iow, when products are designed "function before form", it shouldn't be surprising that they look similar across brands
