My wife and I are moving out of our apartment at the end of May. As a courtesy to out landlady, we're looking for potential renters. Initial details about the apartment can be found via the following URL:
http://www.millercommamatt.com/forrent
You'll notice that link above doesn't give the exact location or rental rate. My landlady is very picky about who she rents to therefore, she doesn't disclose that information until she's had a change to speak to you over the phone. The apartment is in the vicinity of ES King Village. She's the best landlady I've ever had. She's friendly, she lives on site, and she keeps the apartments very well maintained. She hasn't decided on her exact asking rate yet, but it will most likely be less that what you could get a single bedroom apartment for anywhere else. Plus, I can throw things out of my windows and hit people standing at the Wolfline stop; so you can't beat the convince. I walk to campus every day. I need to note that she won't rent to undergraduates except under very special circumstances and that she doesn't allow pets.
If anyone has any questions either call the phone number on the website or ask me by posting in the thread or via PM.

I will estimate between $600 and $675 per month, but I could be wrong. 4/29/2008 6:26:13 PM |

I would be all over this if it weren't for the "no undergrads" (which is super illegal, but whatev). 4/30/2008 7:22:17 PM |

^ Sadly that's not true. Undergraduate students are not a protected class. While I don't agree with her, I do understand her desire to protect her property from less mature tenants. She loves renting to graduate students, but she says she's never had a good experience renting to undergraduates.
This apartment has been a great place for me to live and it in the ideal location for a graduate student. That's the market I'm trying to help my landlady target.
My apologies to any interested undergrads. I would suggest to any undergrads interested to give her a call anyway. You might be able to convince her to make an exception. 5/2/2008 2:38:12 PM |
