i want the squirrelmail shit to go into my outlook mail

yep

tools - account options (or email accounts)

imap

put in your unity id for user name & unity password

incoming server unityid.mail.ncsu.edu

outgoing: whatever your ISP says it is*

i have account and options, but not account options

i went to accounts and added it into the directory service

the website is close to any version of outlook.

it would be under accounts, then add account or add email.

what version are you running?

dont do the directory. it should have an email section, and then "add a new e-mail account"

use Mozilla thunderbird. NCSU also explains the set up for it.

yeh, unless I'm forgetting what 6 is like....

accounts or email accounts or account options

email - add new email

IMAP (it may list several with it, but as long as you select the one with IMAP)

Your Name

Your NCSU E-mail

unity ID

unity password (check to remember password)

make sure "Log on using SPA" is NOT checked

incoming mail server (IMAP): unityid.mail.ncsu.eud

outgoing mail server (SMTP): whatever your ISP says, or if on campus whatever the website says

more settings - check my outgoing SMTP requires authentication, "use same..." uncheck SPA

and that should do it
