I have seen them 4 times over the past 2.5 years. Always a good performance.

I missed them at MerleFest but I grabbed a CD . . . quickly becoming a fan.

I just found this of Scott singing a TVZ song:

You have to see them live man, That makes them all the better, I think so at least.

They are very high energy

Yeah, I grabbed the live CD just because everyone said exactly that. Unfortunately, they aren't going to be anywhere I'm going to be anywhere on their future tour schedule, but I'll be looking ou for them, that is for sure.

Can someone embed that? It's a band called Yardwork from Charlotte. Saw them live a few weeks ago, I'm seeing big things for them for the same reason, they're really high energy

ugh, jam bands.

I mean, I know they have their place, but it isn't in my CD collection. I don't mind them in person, but I'm not going to listen to the same 15 minute jam over and over in my car.

I was digging Donna the Buffalo with Tim O'Brien this weekend till the storm rolled in though.

none whatsoever.

however, apples do not have the buoyancy of citrus, so I'm not sure how you're making such a preposterous claim that any apples > oranges.

I'm a Townes Van Zandt fan, I know depressing music, but I've never come close to suicide than the 20 seconds of that that I put up with . . .

I dont know what the first video jaybee posted was, but I thought it was boring, not really my thing I guess.

Wilco can be pretty straight, but I am not a fan of that song. I mean there is barely even any music in it.

You seem to listen to some pretty depressing music man, what else to you listen to?

I am not trying to incite an argument, I am merely interested in your music tastes.

Yeah, jam bands suck. The Allman Brothers have NOTHING on the Avett Brother(s) who strums a banjo like a fucking jug band retard.

So what part of you watching the end credits of the Big Lebowski got into Townes Van Zandt after not realizing that Dead Flowers is a Stones song? Was it the same part that didn't realize there are 290302934902 Townes Van Zandt's out there?

fuck yes, i totally overlooked this thread.

I love the Avett Brothers. they are in my cd player constantly.

JCASH, which album did you get?

and if you like them, you may (or may not, but I do) like the Masonboro Boys. They are no where near as popular, but a good local band.

"April 26, 2008 - North Carolina Show + New Record in July!!
We have two very big announcements!

1) We will be playing at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, NC on July 26th 2008. We always love playing in our home state and are honored to be playing at such a great venue. Tickets will be available very soon - and those of you who are on our mailing list, keep an eye on your inboxes!

2) We will be putting out a new record on July 22, 2008. It will be the second in our series of Gleam EPs - entitled (appropriately enough) The Second Gleam. We hope you'll like it!

Thank you all, so much.
The Avett Brothers"

I grabbed Live Vol 2. I'll be deep in the heart of southern Alabama in July (well, actually but for missing the Avett Bros)

I'll check out the Masonboro Boys.
