I'm going to Charlotte tonight to see my friend since it's his birthday. Usually he gets so drunk and just lies around and it's a wasted night. I wanna come prepared with something to do, anything worth-wild down there to do?

I mean yeah I know there are bar, but is there anything interesting. Any events anything would make Charlotte different than Raleigh, I mean they have bars here.

depends on what you want to do

if you want to dance and pick up some sluts go uptown

plaza midwood and noda have some good bars for just hanging out and drinking

if you want to act like you have more money that you really do, go to ballantyne... there's a lot of cougars/sugar daddies out that way too... you know, if you're into that sorta thing

that's all i can think of for now... try charlotte.citysearch.com

if you wanna see a show Thrice and Circa Survive are playing at Amos' Southend

neighborhood theatre ---> John Cowan Band and Steep Canyon Rangers

Abbey Road Live is playing at The Visulite

you also need to tell us your style and what you like to do.

cause there are a lot of bars and things that people say are "must sees" but if its not your style you won't have a good time.

prime example for me is Hom bar. I hate that place more than anything yet its "the place to be"

go to The Penguin for some awesome onion rings

there's stuff happening near Charlotte all the time: the Charlotte Observer website should tell you about events, etc

i like thomas st tavern.. the back deck/patio/whatever is awesome... but not everyone is into that kinda atmosphere

uhh... hops bar and grill in matthews is cool on mon and wed because they have dollar draft

buckhead in uptown charlotte is WAY more awesome than buckhead in raleigh. the two guys that normally play are freakin' awesome and i always have a good time. also i'm pretty sure girls are always free before 10pm..

amos' is a really fun venue, i always have a good time when i'm there, and it's in southend, there's a bar next door that's real chill and has dart boards and pool and shit

bordeaux in noda is my favorite sunday brunch place, i always have a mimosa when i go to nurse my hangover

i'm tired of thinking of things now... it's someone else's turn

^ the penguin is good, but there's usually a long wait, and it's really not that good. dish is good also and i've never had to wait. major pro about penguin: cheap beer ftw!

Check out the music at Charlottes venues to see if any of it is your style:

Evening Muse, Tremont, Amos' Southend, etc.

http://charlottehappenings.creativeloafing.com/gbase/Events/Event?oid=oid%3A112065&max=10

Sunday there's an italian food festival uptown apparently.

Bars/Clubs
Thomas St. (patio in rear)
Tyber Creek (outside or upstairs)
Ri-Ra's (outdoor patio)

ETC.
