webmail
Let's your forward anywhere you want

gmail
let's you forward anywhere you want
let's you send "on behalf of" other emails

hotmail
have to have it for the fregin MSN messenger
forwarding
Quote :
"You can forward your mail to one other e-mail address that ends in hotmail.com, msn.com, live.com, or custom domains.

Important note: Please sign in at least once every 120 days so that your account doesn't get deleted. (In order to help fight junk, we delete inactive accounts.)"

Also does the "on behalf of" for any email

Is there any trickery to get hotmail to forward to gmail? I tried sending the hotmail to the webmail, but it says no - webmail isn't in the microsoft club apparently. I still don't know what it means by "custom domains". Probably "custom domains provided by Microsoft".

Any other silly ways to do the email thang?

dammit, no one uses hotmail because they want to.

but then people start emailing hotmail and are like "why didn't you get my email", but goddam it, the only reason I even run MSN on trillian in the first place is to talk to them.

so you call those people idiots and say oh i didnt get your email because you sent it to the wrong address.

anyone that's worth getting e-mail from is intelligent enough to have an address book and update your email address in it.

i run mailutil as a cron job to import imap into my gmail. you could probably do something similar for hotmail

[Edited on May 6, 2008 at 3:16 PM. Reason : though hotmail doesn't do pop3 or imap, they use http, so i dunno]

there used to be those servers you could set up on your computer that would be a local POP server and run an HTTP backend to retrieve the messages, you remember?

don't know if they work anymore - development probably stopped or slowed down when everyone stopped using hotmail
