and you're about to graduate and you're making A's in your classes
do you put your expected GPA on your resume or your current GPA?

Uh, unless you have like a 3.8 or higher you don't put your GPA on your resume. The point is to stand out, not to blend in.

just make sure you know how to handle an interview

Wow, don't follow this advice. Increasingly companies do background checks these days on their prospective employees. Especially in larger corporations.

If you're right out of school and have a killer GPA, but it on the resume. Once you gain some professional experience though, you'll look like an idiot putting a GPA on a resume.

Though I can't poke fun, I am aware that my used-to-was advisor frequents TWW so he'll know what GPA I graduated with.

the career center will even tell you to only put your GPA on your resume if it is really high, otherwise just leave it off......

Never had to indicate my GPA ... but I also didn't pursue a career in engineering (for obvious reasons).

companies do look at GPA

i came back to state in March to help recruit for my company and the people i was with definitely looked at GPA and it was a make or break deal for some

I guess it's important how you do in the classroom in engineering. Which I can definitely see. I would assume there would be some relatively similar computations IRL and in school.

Classroom performance isn't an indication of success in a liberal arts field.

i had a 4.0 all the way through undergraduate and graduate school. instead of listing the actual GPA, I put "summa cum laude" or whatever your distinction level is on the resume. that's something that I think you can keep on there forever without sounding like an idiot, that is as long as you don't put a lot of emphasis on it.

don't put it down, but you won't be fooling anyone. no GPA on the resume of a recent grad = crappy gpa

now that i have work experience, i won't be posting my gpa. i think that's common practice though.

Here's a thought... WAIT 2 MORE DAYS AND GET YOUR CALCULATED GPA, THEN PUT IT ON YOUR RESUME!

I didn't put it on and got an awesome beginning level job as a full time photographer. They didn't really care about education anyway but it helped to just say I had a BA. If you stay with a job like that for like 30 years it might pay off, but otherwise if your'e applying to a job where you actually use your degree, yeah, put it on there. They will care.
