Not really, but what would the social rammifications be if a study found that someone who uses wireless technology for one hour a day is as likely to develop cancer as someone who smokes 5 cigarettes a day? 5/7/2008 5:39:07 PM |

Would wifi be the new taboo like cigarettes, or would society just chalk it up as an acceptable loss and keep going?
Regardless I'm sure that you would have new communes that did everything via ethernet cables.
I'm just pictures the new anti-wifi ad; "From you dad! I learned it from watching you!" 5/7/2008 5:51:03 PM |

I think everything causes cancer. Wasn't there a study released that said Nalgene (sp) bottles cause cancer when the plastic breaks down from continuous refilling. 5/7/2008 5:56:22 PM |

^x6 microwaves are pretty safe. now aim the magnetron at yourself and you'll be dead pretty quick, although not from cancer. 5/22/2008 2:05:52 PM |

Quote : | "A group in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is seeking a ban on Wi-Fi signals in public buildings because they say they’re allergic to wireless Internet signals, according to a report from KOB-TV.
"I get chest pain and it doesn't go away right away," alleged Wi-Fi allergy sufferer Arthur Firstenberg told KOB.
"It's not 1692, it's 2008. Santa Fe needs to embrace this technology, it's not going away," Santa Fe City Councilor Ron Trujillo says, noting that the area is already saturated with the wireless signals.
The Santa Fe city attorney is checking to see if the Wi-Fi signals could be considered a form of discrimination, KOB reports." |

Cell phones are so freaking dominant now... they are going to cause cancer long before wifi does...
wireless G uses pretty much the same frequency as cell phones... (2.4Ghz vs 1.8Ghz) data rate doesn't make a difference when the carrier frequency is constantly present, that and an idling wifi signal is only sent sporadically in search of users and once a user found it's line of sight communication...
doplar radar from your local TV stations is most likely doing as much damage as wifi... 5/25/2008 1:40:23 PM |
