So I've been with this dude forever. We're been through thick and thin, close enough to be married for over five years now. Some of y'all know him, the newer folks just know about the jokes the senior (ahem) members on here make about him, but basically he's 58 and has some serious financial issues (emotional ones were from the past and have been fully treated). We lived together for about two years and then we both got some faith and decided that if we weren't gonna get married, I might as well move out because we would rather not live together out of wedlock. It wasn't a big issue at first but we did it more out of respect for the church we've joined, and like I said, we're just trying to do the right thing.

So we're no longer living together but we still have a joint bank account, half of my stuff is over there, I visit frequently for lunch and checking mail, etc. We're comfortable with being friends.

Question is, I'm not comfortable with dating anybody but I've had a few (somewhere between 2 and 4) real class-A dudes take in interest in me. I hate to put 'em down because I know I'm missing the opportunity of a lifetime, but I am just not ready to branch out yet, but they seem to know that something's going on and it's just a matter of time that I give in and bwn one of 'em. I hate the feeling of vultures bearing down, and hate even more the idea of sex with someone other than this guy I've been with for so long. So what to do?

second, i'm confused. are you with him or not with him. you're just friends? you still have a joint bank acct? yikes. i'd say figure out if you guys are "together" and if you're not you should probably get all your own shit outta thurrr, fix the bank acct situation, so that you can move on. i mean it doesn't sound like you necessarily want to move on, but whatever you're doing now (the whole undefined thing) prob isn't the healthist for anyone. i think you need to attempt to move on. in baby steps.
