i think it's starting to appear how ridiculous sentencing is on possessing small quantities of pot (under 4 oz's). prisons are full of people with minor charges.what politicians are pro-weed legalisation? and are we close . . . ?
5/8/2008 2:59:14 PM
i wish they'd legalize it and tax the ever living fuck out of it.

they way i look at it, shitheads are gonna smoke it either way. might as well make them pay their own welfare.[Edited on May 8, 2008 at 3:02 PM. Reason : i don't really have a problem with folks who use it responsibly]
5/8/2008 3:02:32 PM
People like me (i.e. squares) probably still wouldn't smoke it even if it was legal, so im all for it. but like it has been said above, tax the fuck out of it

i could see the potency issue going the other way -
5/8/2008 3:09:30 PM
people who complain about potency apparently dont get headies
5/8/2008 3:10:39 PM
Potency would become a competitive advantage, unless regulated, ere go companies would research to get the most potent of herb.
5/8/2008 3:10:57 PM
there is no real reason to tax it anymore than other controlled substances
5/8/2008 3:13:39 PM
they already engineer some pretty potent hybrid strains in the netherlands, canada, us govt, etc...enough people smoke nowadays that there has BEEN a big market for ornate bongs, specialized papers, etc
5/8/2008 3:15:46 PM
Yes, but with it legalized, it can be taxed, which means more money for schools or government wasting.
5/8/2008 3:17:07 PM
The problem is it'd have to be a change at the federal level; despite state laws (Cally) that may decriminalize it, the Feds are constantly going to fuck with people at their discretion. Berkely County in California recently declared themselves a "medical marijuana sanctuary" with like an 80% vote from the citizens, where the county police would actually not cooperate with federal authorities in the event of their interference with medical marijuana distribution.Imagine one of these on Hillsoborough St.There's a few automated dispensaries in Cally, with prepaid accounts / strand preferences for perscribed users. Eh. Kids want to do illegal substances when they're teenagers. I rather let them have the satisfaction of being a rebel after smoking something harmless like pot instead of jumping straight into coke.

I mean they should. As far as drugs go, Weed is more tame than Alcohol. Plus I Love Headies and I am an engineer. Eat it.
5/8/2008 3:23:03 PM
5/8/2008 3:25:55 PM
You can't become addicted to weed and, as far as I know, there aren't any long-term detriments in continued use of the Wacky Tabaccy. Alcohol has both and it ruins people's lives.

(in on page one )canada's new douchebag government just re-classified weed as a harder drug (class d, not c, I think)against all recommendations from elsewhere within the canadian government(it still might get a little worse before it gets better)but yeahyou can buy weed from vending machines in certain places in california nowshit is happening[Edited on May 8, 2008 at 3:35 PM. tax it and use the money to subsidize gas costs. something like "The more pot you people buy, the less you will have to pay in gas taxes" or something like that.
