and surrounding areas. i searched and found nothing.

Fumbler and i are going to visit my aunt & uncle in columbia at the end of the month and are looking for ideas on things to do. we visited 2 years ago and went on an owl tour in the congaree national park, to the zoo, downtown ghost tour, and some shopping. we are thinking of going on a paddle tour of either the congaree river or broad river this time, but need some other ideas.

we'll be there for 4 days (2 of which will include the drive there or back). we like outdoorsy stuff and museums but are open to all suggestions. i've looked around online at the museums they have and other visitor attractions but i haven't seen anything that interesting yet.

also any suggestions on restaurants would be good too.

obligatory "get the fuck out" response.

Seriously...take a couple day trips to Charleston...or maybe even Greenville.

Spend some time on Lake Murray if you get the chance. If you're into diving, they have some definite sights to see. There are quite a few submerged planes, and also a submerged town or two. They're relatively deep though. I definitely second the zoo as well.

we're only going to be there for 4 days, only 2 whole days, and i don't think day trips that far away would work.

we've already done the zoo once when we went 2 years ago. i love zoos but wasn't super impressed with their facility (although meeting a penguin and getting to pet him was pretty cool).

i really want to spend some time on lake murray. my uncle used to have a sailboat but he sold it. they live basically right next to the lake (less than half a mile). how's the fishing there? what would be the best set up and what do you catch?

actually, charleston isnt that far away. if you were going all the way down to columbia, you could head 2 hours further south and catch snakes with me.

Get a Godfather from Beezers. Hopefully a man on a bike will deliver it to you. I second going to Green's.

There's a college and "young professionals" scene downtown. They have some decent restaurants. I think they call the downtown strip, "the vista". If you like a decent restaurant, I would recommed The Blue Marlin.
