perhaps you need to rethink your diet
eating a baked potato at 8am, pretty much by itself is kinda a warning sign that you're not doing it right 5/15/2008 8:41:01 AM |

To make it crisper, put a light coating of olive oil on it (or any oil of your choice). Also, after you coat it, put sea salt on it. Wrap with tin foil. Bake in the oven for 50 minutes to an hour. Crispy skinned baked potatoes are the result. 5/15/2008 8:42:14 AM |

Ketchup and sour cream is the best on a baked potato. I do this at Wendy's all the time and I eat the skin too. Guess I'm strange. Can't stand butter on it though. 5/15/2008 9:18:16 AM |

If he's vegan then he can't have cheese (or presumably most types of ranch dressing). Vegan just seems like it's way too much trouble to deal with. I think I could handle being a vegetarian, I wouldn't want to be one but I could deal with it, but not vegan. No milk, no eggs, no cheese, no meat... fuck! 5/15/2008 9:18:59 AM |

I guess if you sit down and really think it out, it wouldn't be hard. I just tried thinking of what I'm cooking tonight. I was gonna say it could be vegan, but then I remembered that meat isn't part of that whole deal haha

Yeah, I'm sure on a meal by meal basis it wouldn't be that bad but do you know how much shit is made with egg or milk products... fucking everything! I mean, being a really strict vegan is a pain in the balls. Of course, if you're dedicated enough to some cause (whether ethical or perceived health reasons) I'm sure you can make it work, but living with it on a daily basis seems like a bitch. 5/15/2008 9:24:25 AM |

They're berries found in the tropics. I remember a couple of years back reading about how acai was going to be the new pomegranate. Shonuff that shits in everything now. 5/15/2008 9:38:24 AM |

fries are in the oven, they're gonna be delicious....oh and about all the vegan comments, it's pretty interesting trying to find a variety of meals to eat that are vegan (my roommate laughs at me bc pasta and rice and beans are very frequent meals for me). I mean i pretty much cook every meal at home, and when i shop at the grocery store and read the label on an item, i probably end up putting back about 95% of them. I also pay a lot of attention to making sure i get enough protein and stuff, but nuts and beans are good for that. but it's all good I have been meaning to experiment with tofu and curry, but haven't really done much of it yet.
as far as dining out goes, there are actually a few restaurants in town that have a semi-vegan menu so i can eat there, or i can pretty much get a salad . I've actually been entertaining ideas about opening up a vegan catering business. you could make a website and even like freeze dry and ship the meals. wouldn't do it yet probably, but maybe sometime far down the road i guess. 5/15/2008 9:49:21 AM |
lewoods All American 3526 Posts user info edit post |
freeze dry, lol
I think you mean ship on dry ice. Unless vegan food is so nasty that freeze drying won't make it any worse.
I'd never be vegan. Gluten free, low soy, and vegan would be impossible. Salad, veggies, beans, rice. No thanks. 5/15/2008 9:58:08 AM |
sNuwPack All American 6519 Posts user info edit post |
yea i mean i just said freeze dry, i'm not sure what the "right" term is, but i know you can somehow ship prepared meals so they're still good and shit.
edit: and dude, rice and beans is possibly one of the best meals ever. super low in fat/ high in protein, and if you know how to season your beans properly, delicious.
