Can anyone here change a convertable top to a 92 miata. I got the top and the instructions but I am not that mechanically inclined. Plus I don't want to pay a body shop $400 to do it.

It's not hard, just tedious. Took me a couple hours each day on a weekend. Make sure it's a warm day so the top is more pliable. Also don't drop any of the rain rail nuts. They seem to like to roll into the dark recesses by the corner of the door.

I would rather pay someone to help me do it who knows what there doing instead of taking it to a shop thats gonna charge me twice as much as I am wanting to pay

Sports and Compacts on Hillsboro is the cheapest place to have this done, at least is was a year ago.

yep, they specialize in mazda stuff and miatas in particular. still, $400 isn't a bad deal. putting one on is one thing, but actually putting it on and not having it leak is another. well worth the money imo.

if this is your daily driver/only car, I wouldn't attempt a DIY top install because if you screw it up you're going to be SOL if you run out of time to fix it.
