Pr0n isn't the only thing that can be sold by weight! I've gotten in several palletloads of laser printers of various sizes and capabilities, and I'm at my limits in terms of storage space. I'm setting asking prices nice and low, but feel free to make offers!

Check back regularly, I'll be posting more over the next few days as I test and list more.

1: HP Laserjet 1320

This is one of HP's newer generation desktop monochrome laser printers. Its smaller, lighter, and faster than the older 4000 and 4100 series, and would be great for a home office type setup. Includes a good toner with 20% remaining. Very low pagecount!

Specs:

  • Page Count: 16k
  • Print Speed: 22 Pages Per Minute, First page out in 8.5 seconds
  • Resolution: Up to 1200 x 1200 dpi
  • Paper Handling: 1 x 250 Sheet Input Tray
  • Memory: 16 MB (144 MB Max.)
  • Connectivity: USB and Parallel
  • Languages and Fonts HP PCL 6, HP PCL 5e, Postscript Level 2 emulation with automatic language switching

Asking $120

2: HP Color Laserjet 4500N

Large and a bit on the slow side, but cheap and produces great looking color prints! With the 10/100 JetDirect it can easily be hooked to a network, and its perfect for sharing to a whole house or office. Included are more than enough supplies to print several thousand color pages, so you shouldn't have to buy any toner for a while.

  • Page Count: 89k, Color Page Count: 61k
  • Ram: 64MB
  • Input Capacity: 400 Pages (Two Input Trays, 8.5x14" Max Paper Size)
  • HP 600n EIO Jetdirect Installed, 10/100 Ethernet

Supplies:

Transfer Kit: 43% (43k Pages Remaining)
Drum Kit: 40% (8,000 Pages Remaining)
Fuser Kit: 62% (62k Pages Remaining)

A full set of color and black and white toner is included, each with more than 25% remaining (enough to print well over 2000 pages)

Asking $120

3: Xerox Phaser 860DP High-speed Solid Ink Color Printer

Professional grade high speed solid ink printer. It will print full 8x11 photographs literally as fast as you can pull them from the output tray (6 sec or less each at full resolution, 3 sec in "fast" print mode), and does so with incredible quality. Uses Xerox's proprietary "Colorstix" ink, which is a solid block of ink about the size of a normal print cartridge. Easy to handle, easy to load, and inexpensive . . . . a color block which yields several thousand pages is only about $25, less for non-OEM.

Xerox supplies free black ink for the life of this printer!! That's right, you will NEVER have to pay for black ink, only color!

Specifications:

  • Page count: 68k
  • Maintenance Kit: 37% Remaining
  • Full Duplex Operation (Two-Sided Printing!)
  • 1200x1200 DPI resolution, black and full color
  • 16 PPM Print Speed (10 PPM for full color photos at the highest quality setting, this will print an 8x11 glossy in 6 seconds flat!)
  • 10 seconds till 1st page out
  • 128MB Ram (expandable to 256mb using standard PC100 laptop ram)
  • 350 Sheet Paper Capacity
  • 10/100 BaseTX Ethernet, built in Web Server and Admin tools/remote printing
  • Parallel, 10/100 Ethernet, and USB Connections
  • Small and compact for this type of printer! Easily fits on most desks.
  • System Compatibility: Windows 9x/2k/Me/XP, Mac OS 9/10, UNIX/Linux

Detailed Specs from Xerox:

Asking $250

4: HP LaserJet 5000 Large Format Laser Printer

  • 1200x1200 DPI resolution
  • 32MB Ram (Upgraded from original 4mb)
  • 17 Pages Per Minute
  • First Page Out: 13 Seconds
  • HP PCL 6, HP PCL 5e, Adobe PostScript Level 2

  • Full Bleed (borderless) 11x17 Capability
  • Parallel and Serial interfaces
  • Monthly Duty Cycle: 65,000
  • 325 Sheet Input Capacity (1x 250 sheet tray, 100 manual feed)

^ Actually yes, I have two all-in-one units. One Laserjet 4101MFP and one Laserjet 3390. I was going to post them later after I'm done cleaning and testing them (and getting a new EIO hard drive for the 4101MFP). Feel free to IM me if you're interested in one.

Do you have any of the 1320N or any compact HP network capable printers similar to the 1320?

I could include a Jetdirect 175x with it so its networkable. It would run you an extra $40.

My girlfriend has been hounding me for the past forever to get a new printer but she doesn't use the one we have enough to justify the cost in ink. I know that toner is generally more expensive but it doesn't go away over time like ink does it? Sorry for the printer n00b question.

Buying a toner cartridge is generally a bit more expensive than buying an ink cartridge, but they're good for 10-20x the number of pages and don't dry up or get old. Per page the savings are HUGE.

I've had the same toner in my personal Laserjet 4000 for four years now printing out all my stuff, and it wasn't full when I got it!

New addition:

#5: HP LaserJet 4250N

This thing is an absolute beast, printing at 45 pages per minute. This is a current-generation HP offering, which replaced the older 4100 and 4200 series. If you need to print a LOT of black and white, this is what you want!

Specifications:

  • 1200 x 1200 DPI Resolution
  • 45 PPM Print Speed
  • 64MB RAM
  • 600 Sheets Input Capacity (500-Sheet Tray + 100 Manual Feed)
  • Monthly Duty Cycle: 150k Pages
  • 460mhz Processor
  • Integrated HP 10/100 JetDirect Ethernet Print Server
  • Connects Via USB, Parallel, and Fast Ethernet
  • Environments: Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT 4.0, XP, Vista, Mac OS 7.5+

Page count on this unit is only 11k pages, all but brand new!

Asking $220

Also, whoever takes the Phaser 860, I'll throw in a full color set of Colorstix II ink, brand new and still in the original packaging (worth about $120).

I'm prolly gonna snag up that Phaser if it's still available by the time I make it down that way. Gotta see how hard it is for me to make the trip to Kaplan on my way home. You going to be around tomorrow afternoon around 6:30-7ish?

Engrish never showed up or contacted me, so the Phaser 860DP is still up for grabs.

Open the front door, its the green tray that slides out with the white roller in the middle. It's what oils the drum as it turns, so the ink will release nicely onto the paper. They have a chip in them that tells the printer when the kit was installed and how many prints it has left on it.
