i was sick of all the shoeboxes full of old parts, and all the cases in my storage room. so i built a computer that i don't have to worry about fucking up, and got rid of the rest of the shit. except the really small parts, cause you do need those sometimes.

anyways, i got a 2 for 1. i built an ionizer too. i gave it a week long smoke test, haven't killed it. can't figure out how hot it is though. i bet it's the monitor, and not my awesome handiwork.

i recommend this activity to everyone who collects old computer and other equipment and NEVER uses it. it's fun to dig through a box of hard drives and RAM that you were too jewish to throw out because they cost a ton of money when you got em.

any ideas for my computer? there are a few people around who get free internet off me. JIHAD!

I've been thinking about using the old parts I have to put a computer in a coffee table for the living room. We need a new coffee table anyway, and it would be nice to have quick and easy internet access right in front of the tv.

i sure do, and i wish i didn't. we're not supposed to be getting technical here, there has been no magic smoke!!!1 i'm just saying that i plugged it in, it worked, and it has stayed on for a week without blowing up.

if you're serious, i can still grab some parts out of the place where i'm holding all of it until thursday when the garbage man comes

i've played around with that. the best i've found is the VOIP packets. i guess they are using AIM phoneline or skype or something, but i don't really get why they'd steal internet to use internet phone. need a phone / network expert here

I bet it feels pretty cool to build your own computer.

sarcasm? haha its mainly a pain in the ass when you're using parts from like 3 different generations

i'll tell ya whats cool though... firefox has a bad memory leak and i was trying to read about it a little, and i ended up at a page called 6 Tips to Supercharge Mozilla Firefox with Middle Mouse Button using about:config

by default it's set click a link with the middle button to open it in a new tab

but the coolest thing ever: change middlemouse.paste to true, and now you can paste your clipboard with a click

i wonder how many little shortcuts i dont know. they always seem cool, cause they're new i guess.

now that's dorky.
