Anyone had any luck on a he said/she said basis of dispute?
On vacation, tonight my bf specifically inquired as to whether or not internet was available in whatever room we'd be given: I have some bills to pay, pictures to upload, an email for work, and he wanted to look into something for his banking, and we wanted to check detailed weather forecasts to plan for the next few days. We'd already bypassed another hotel which offered internet only in the lobby - which is actually the setup here.
Of course, we were told there was, and naturally, there isn't. So I call up the front desk, asking them to either help us get internet in our room, move us to a room with internet access, or otherwise compensate us for not providing what we were told they provided.
They won't, and I'll be dealing with the manager in the morning before we leave. I'm going to ask her to cut the cost of the room to some mutually agreeable rate, and if she refuses, I'll point her towards Visa's guidelines for chargebacks. "goods or services not as described" more than covers this, and I know the CC companies nearly always side with the customers when it comes to chargebacks, but I've really only ever heard of them being activated for online transactions, or goods/services never provided at all.
Yes, I fully realize I'm being a cranky, controlling cunt.
Anyone have experience with transactions decided on verbal information, and not something like a bill of sale, ad, or otherwise recorded description?

man, i've texted your ass twice asked for a damn text, telling you I forgot to write down your address after you sent it to me, and I never got anything back.
PS: I totally thought of you yesterday when I was at a place called Flaming Gorge
