Hey Guys, another question, hopefully not a dumb one this time


I have Time Warner Road Runner Hi-speed internet. It is hooked up to my linksys wireless router and it works great

My roommate's computer, though, is a bit old and has no wireless, so we want to hook it up directly. We plugged in an ethernet cord to one of the 4 spare hubs on the back of the router (the modem only has 1 hub) and it didn't work. It also took out my wireless too for some reason (we did the whole system unplug/reboot thing on everything to make sure)

then we got an ethernet hub, connected the modem to that, had one wire going to roommates PC, the other going to the wireless router. Still did not work.

I've got everything setup back to just the wireless. Is there anything I can do/try to make it work both wireless and direct setup so my roommate can have internet porn? Thanks

i'd be willing to bet that he has some sort of b.s. windows networking wizard thing set up where his compuer is acting as a dhcp server
