Huh? He's only one of the best natural players of our generation. It's a shame he got hurt so often or he'd be the placeholder for A-Rod breaking the HR record instead of Bonds...5/31/2008 9:06:08 PM |

Ken Griffey Jr. was about the only thing I cared about from around the age of 9 to 13. I think that was the case for a lot of kids my age. 5/31/2008 9:19:04 PM |

Yeah, I actually liked the Mariners more than the Braves for a few years growing up because of Griffey.

God I hate DNL. Griffey is one of the greatest players of our generation, better than Bonds, hence him being voted onto the all-century team and not Bonds, leading Bonds to start taking steroids and make himself better. But he's still a whiney cunt, so it doesn't matter. Anyways, Griffey still has a few years in him I'd say, and could end up around 650-675.
* Sorry NYM for writing the same words as you
** I don't really hate DNL, he's just kinda an idiot.

did anyone watch his speech when he returned to Seattle with the Reds to play the Mariners?
I was embarrassed for him it was so bad. I don't know if he was nervous or if he's just dumb, but I was cringing the whole way through it.
That aside, he's one of my favorite players of all time. His swing is so memorable and graceful. If it wasn't for all the injuries, he'd probably be the greatest player ever. 6/1/2008 12:13:48 PM |

yeah he's cool, but this is so sad that no one cares about home run milestones anymore
10 years ago this thread would be at 15 pages

like 5 injuries ago this would have been at 700 HRs... he missed about 2.5-3 or possibly more seasons, depending on how you look at it. Just averaging 30 a year for those 3 injury years we'd be looking for the 700 HR watch, and with another healthy year or two we'd have the all time record watch. Too bad faggots like Bonds, Palmeiro, Sosa, Brady Anderson, everybody else in baseball, made the HR such a shitty stat. Plus, ballparks have gotten smaller because more runs=more attendance and revenue. Anyways, he's gotta be in the top 10-15 players of all time, and, as far as I'm concerned, I believe he did it without any help from steroids and other drugs. But then again I might have said the same about Clemens a couple years ago and now he's the biggest junkie of them all.
