I would recommend it. Plus, alltel's version is all black. Pretty sleek.

how's the data rates? My mom uses the treo 650p on Alltel and I could have typed 1's and 0's in faster... I do a lot of data transfers - A LOT. Honestly I'd like to pony up to a straight linux phone, but dang - $$$ don't grow anywhere around here.

well it depends on what your benchmark is. I find it adequate. Sometimes, when I'm loading google maps it takes quite a bit of time, but loading web pages and stuff, it's acceptable.

then that's probably too slow for me. I wasn't happy with EDGE, EVDO was solid, EVDO-A is what I'm hunting. Straight data rate is all I care about really, the combination of carrier and device. It will be used as a tethered modem 98% of the time so clients can see their goods on a laptop from anywhere with a cell tower.

I need a new phone anyway... The new line will be solely for the blossoming business. That way I can maintain some flavor of personal life while still having somewhere customers can call 24/7 with their problems. I'm also moving to something with a larger keyboard - I have fat fingers

I hope it's not all plastic like those "leaked" pictures show. I really liked the brushed aluminum backing on the original iPhone. Didn't scratch and looked nice.
