Anybody willing to help me integrate a logo into an email signature? It seems pretty simple but I just wanted to make sure to do it in such a way that would work across most email platforms.

In that case, use text. No, just use text anyway.

This is probably a bad idea, but to insert an image, just use:

<img src="annoyingsignature.jpg" />

idk... if you keep it simple and not gaudy (99% of html signatures i've seen are both complicated and gaudy), it can work

i rather like mine:

(obviously blurred, but you get the point)

but yes, it's annoying as shit if you do it inappropriately... i only use it for outgoing external emails, and only for the first message. internal stuff and replies get just a simple 2 line plaintext signature.

^what he said

many people in the business realm use some sort of rich text email editor. sometimes it really helps just to be able to bold text or underline text for clarity and formatting.

i also agree though, not to use images.

most of the time simple color change or bold font in the signature helps dress it up, and will easily look just as nice in plain text without any tags

Looks like I'll stay away from images in my signature. One more question, kind of related to the first:

Any ideas on how to insert a picture into a craigslist ad? I've tried the simple <img src="picture"> tag to try to link an ad created as a picture file. I was trying to make an ad for our organization stand out by creating it as an image but it didn't work. It came up fine in Firefox when saved as an HTML file but wouldn't work on craigslist. In fact, it said it posted but just didn't show up in the posted jobs. I don't know if HTML is prohibited in craigslist, but maybe one of you could give me an idea of how to make it work if possible.

It's only tasteful to put email signatures if you're the first person on a thread.

My signature is a solid page long..

It's required though when I send out quotes and shit like that though (and everything in it is useful information..not pictures or anything like that)

This reminds me of the ridiculous email signatures people in student government use.

Also, since I was digging them up, I came across this old gem:

Quote :
"pirate captain Tue, Nov 15, 2005 at 1:35 PM
To: sg-l@lists.ncsu.edu

Ahoy Me Mateys and ye Scrogs,
It is upon this day I take me time I feel would bae better spent on issues at hand (preparing for BOT meeting, Erskine Bowles, Chancellor's Liaison) ta converse with ye over issues some of ye feel are more pressing, that some lads would see as petty or irrelevant. Ye GB12 All signatures on correspondence or official documents filled or released for internal or public circulation shall only contain: (i) their official title for the respective position(s) they currently hold, (ii) their legal given name, and (iii) their legal signature. No slogans or nicknames may be included in their signature block. Alterations to a standard signature block shall not be allowed. Is now keep'n ye from doin' what ye wish ta bae do'n and then ye blame me. I sign my papers with my signature that resembles "The Pirate Captain" That bae me signature if ye have issues with that perhaps me lad or lass ye should find something more important ta spend ye time on. For those of ye who say that its not a valid signature please observe American common law has long held that a legal signature is a symbol adopted by a person with the intent to sign a document. The signature need not be any specific kind of device. It can include just an X or a number. At least one judicial decision has even held that a legal signature can include the characters of a typed name in an e-mail message. Doherty v. Registry of Motor Vehicles (Mass. 1997 - Suffolk Dist. Ct. Dept. 97CV0050).I have done been signing legislation that has been thrown back onto me desk by matey Forrest saying he will not accept it and thus 10 days must pass for it ta bae passed by delinquency. Ye have me intent ta sign tha legislation given by me signature, accept it. When this was addressed in senate matey Fabricious said something ta the extent of "all we want is a legal signature, that's it." That's what I bae give'n ye. Howabouts we done find somethin' better ta spend our time on. By tha way if ye've qualms with what me signature looks like matey Forrest's resembles "JT B MGT" perhaps we should disregard all things "signed" by him? Or alas me lads and lasses we could grow up?
-THE PIRATE CAPTAIN"
