so, ladies, how do you feel about labret piercings?

I think that's actually on a girl, but whatever, the only image I could find on Google of a guy was a dead link. I'm thinking of a smallish ball about .25" lower than the one she's got there. I know at least one girl that likes this, but she's crazy, so I was wondering if other girls find this sort of piercing attractive.

punchmonk had one for quite a while.

i dunno about on a guy though. if you got the confidence to rock it, go for it. but i would be inclined to say it would be a little ~ on a guy

[Edited on June 3, 2008 at 10:19 AM. Reason : i'd do an eyebrow before a labret]

See I think an eyebrow on a guy would more ~ than the labret.

Just do you! Thats all I have to say.

the labret (pronounced "la-breT") can have some adverse dental effects

it could wear down your gums and teeth on the inside of your bottom lip

i had a lip ring once. wore that same sort of little stud- it got ripped out.

i liked it while it was there though.

(on dudes though, it really has to match your personality)

i'm not a big fan of eyebrow rings on guys

labret piercings are nice though, because you can really make them as noticeable as you want. use a small ball, and they're less noticeable, use a big ball/ring/spike thing to make sure everyone sees it

i like them on guys and girls, but that's just my opinion

the good thing about piercings though is you can take it out if you don't like it... so just do it. worst case scenario you're out whatever you paid for it.

Def. NO on a guy. girls pull off piercings better imo unless its a lip ring for a guy.

well if you are the kind of guy who works in a professional setting (the sort of professional where you need to be in a suit during the day) then it probably wont work on you. or if you are a uber-preppy collar-popping kind of guy (not like there is anything wrong with that) then it probably wont work. chances are - if you are considering getting one in the first place, you have the right sort of personality to make it work.

like blah said, you can always take it out if you dont like it. the most you lose is some cash.

Gross. They look over-the-top. Real men don't need piercings to look tough.

thx quagmire

so it seems like people are across the board with this, and that it would probably serve as a deterrent for closed minds, which sounds like a bonus

Just because you think that thing looks like a metal mole doesn't mean you have a closed mind

personally think people who look good with the piercing (lip, eyebrow, nose, w/e) look good without it. imo no thanks but if you want it, like others said get it and worse case you can take it out.

Not a fan of the eyebrow piercings personally. I wouldnt even really be a fan of a lip piercing if it was a loop. The labret I could find being attractive if it matches the guy.

As far as the above "matching your personality" comment-- tattoos and piercings almost go hand in hand. Like, if I knew a guy that wore NO jewelry, like not even a watch, I'd be hesitant to suggest a piercing. It just depends on the person and how they carry themselves.

I've had my tongue pierced for like 3 years now? I believe it has had a slight impact on the movement of my teeth, but I blame the biggest part on my wisdom teeth growing up my jaw and pushing everything together. Braces too young ftl

pretty emo looking, but whatever:

pretty dumb looking:

oh, and do you have any existing piercings or tattoos?

IMO, Lip rings are much hotter, those have a tendency to just look like a zit.

Personally I think all piercings are low brow, even single ear piercings on a girl. They just all look tacky as hell.

When I got my eyebrow done, I was debating between that or a labret piercing like what you pictured. I decided that a spike on the eyebrow would look better on my face than the labret, but it depends on the person and your face shape. Other things to consider are cleaning and maintenance, especially if this would be your first facial piercing; an eyebrow ring is a lot easier to forget about.
