From what I understand, certain image-editing software allows you to calcuate surface area from a 2-dimensional image. I'm trying to figure out which programs do this. I've heard Adobe Illustrator can do this, but I can't find any information about it. I'm sure there is engineering software out there that does this, but I'm no engineer. I'm hoping for something more simple, like Photoshop or Illustrator. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance. 6/10/2008 7:58:32 PM |

Yeah, I'm afraid I need it done in 2 dimensions. I'd prefer not to do it by hand, because it's a very complicated shape and I have to do it a number of times. 6/10/2008 8:25:10 PM |

Would google sketchup do something like that? I know you can draw an overlay onto a photo and recreate buildings and other structures in 3D. I don't know if that's part of the free version though. 6/10/2008 9:02:47 PM |
