video stays in the corner and the rest of the tv is black. How do I fix this? I have an HDMI feed going from the box to the tv. WHAT UP WITH IT? I don't want to watch a small damn thing.
(apparently hitting the PIP button does it for some reason, but I don't like this) 6/11/2008 10:36:34 PM |

you got one of those POS twc HDC models!

your not special, we all have these issues
btw, twc doesnt support HDMI issues if you call them, all they want you to use is component, WTF? 6/12/2008 4:46:02 PM |

^in terms of cable what advantages does HDMI offer over component? 6/12/2008 5:01:29 PM |

well the obvious for me, its a single cable design with audio too.
but it is the latest and greatest, and digital too not analog 6/12/2008 5:17:08 PM |

yes the 5 component cables (audio included) get really annoying sometimes but they are behind the tv. They're both 1080i. I wonder how much of a difference the 1080i digital versus analog would be. 6/12/2008 5:18:52 PM |

^^ On my TWC box, the color is better if you use component video instead of HDMI. The whites show up "whiter", if that's possible. Brightens it up a lot. 6/12/2008 10:05:07 PM |

Do you have a Samsung LCD? The TWC tech that came out to our house said they have been having lots of problems with them and their boxes. He mentioned there would be an update on June 15 that has some fixes for this. 6/12/2008 10:25:23 PM |

yea, ive put up with this shit for a while now. you can do one of two things. 1) unplug the box and reset it. that only works for a short time. 2) hit the picture in picture button on the twc remote twice. by turning it on and turning it off, it somehow forces the picture back to regular size. ive been doing this for the last couple weeks.
sharp lcb btw

i've also had this problem (or one similar to it)... a lot of times i can just change the channel to a standard def station and the signal goes back to normal size

glad to see TWC has a really bad flaw that most people have and they "don't support HDMI cables" what crap.
I have the Vizio LCD, not a samsung 6/13/2008 6:50:01 PM |
