Just came home to find my gas cap sitting on top of the Jeep. I can't find the keys but I am pretty sure its gonna be empty. AGAIN.
Time for a locking one. 6/12/2008 6:55:12 PM |

my step dad bought a locking gas door thing when prices started going up... i thought he was crazy, but i guess people really will steal gas..
that's pretty low... i'm sorry man. 6/12/2008 7:04:55 PM |

That does suck. Thinking about it that'd be $50-60 out of my pocket every time that happened.
No... Actually it'd be about $70-80. (Forgot to add the extra $1 now.)
I think you need one of those viper security systems, except get one for real. Somebody comes over and tries to fiddle with the gas tank and gets a snake bite on the face. Shit will discourage robbery real quick. 6/12/2008 7:09:56 PM |

Our church has one of those 15 passenger vans that holds like ~28 gallons. Twice we've had it drained by someone taking a hacksaw to the pipe connecting the gas cap to the gas tank.
I dunno, seems like you'd need some big balls to hacksaw/drill through metal in a gas rich environment. I'm 100% positive they're not using brass tools, grounding, or any other precautions. They're just risking it for $50 worth of gas... 6/12/2008 7:37:42 PM |

According to the Lavaca County Sheriff's Office, Taylor Michalec's grandfather said he was walking behind the teen when the trigger on his AK-47 assault rifle snagged a branch and discharged, striking the teen in the back.
The shooting happened Wednesday afternoon near County Road 290, about five miles west of Moulton, Texas, about 100 miles east of San Antonio." |

Fucking annoying. Either at the mission valley parking lot, at lunch time, with lots of people eating outside, or at food dog on western, in <10minutes, someone stole almost half a tank
At least it's only a 12gal tank. 8/11/2008 2:02:42 PM |

you'd still have a fucking hole in your gas tank and have to waste a tank of gas realizing it.8/11/2008 2:07:25 PM |

i'm surprised this hasn't happened at work yet...i guess there are enough security guards and cameras downtown for this not to happen. 8/11/2008 2:27:03 PM |

That sucks. I've got a regular threaded locking gas cap I'm not using, but I think I should hang onto it in case it fits my next car. 8/11/2008 2:53:20 PM |
