I know Bowen is tiny and probably sucks but which floor would be best to live in? I'm there for the second summer session.

I've done it before, paid the little extra to have the full room to myself so I don't have to be paired with some random roommate that could turn out to be weird or fucktarded. Both times I was on the 8th or 9th floor since the elevator wait isn't too bad during summer. The main drawback of the 2nd or 3rd floor is you're closer to the all the annoying little middle-schoolers and summer camp programs that you hear in the middle of the night. If you're thinking about false fire-alarms then it's definitely a plus to walk down a flight or two, instead of 7 or 8. As for the style and room layout usually the D or E rooms were the more requested ones since they're not a perfect rectangle like A,B, or C. Do whatever, I just preferred looking out those tiny-ass windows and seeing a decent view of campus whenever, and not just a tree.

The train annoys a lot of people if you're on that side of the building, but I grew up near a railroad crossing so it didn't bother me.

yeah, there's only like 2 elevators and 10 floors i think...so you gotta wait a while for one to stop. and if you live on like the 4th or 5th floor, people get angry when you take the elevator. so either make sure you can walk (2nd or 3rd floor, even) or that you're high enough up that people don't complain about you wasting stops.

i took the elevator to the 4th floor, my response to people who got mad was, I'll start taking the stairs when you walk up to the 4th floor and take the elevator the rest of the way.

Never really got mad at the 4th floor people, 3rd floor residents it was understandable if you just happened to catch the elevator at the right time. Always had a carl face for the people who would wait the longest time to go to the 2nd floor. Who else remembers Mary, the old janitor lady?

I remember Mary. One of the first things my RA told us is that Mary would probably know our names before he did and that she'd remember us forever. Anytime I'd pass by the building (long after moving out) and she was outside she'd always say hey.

I also remember when the elevator dropped like 4 floors and caused a girl to break her arm. The next day, there were signs warning us to "ride at your own risk." The following summer brought new elevators to Bowen.

Aha, yeah she was awesome. And I remember that elevator thing, but I figured they just did a band-aid job on the elevators like always instead of actually buying new ones.
