my gag reflex somehow has gotten worse

at the dentist today when they took x-rays, I almost threw up like twice, it was pitiful

are there any mind tricks I can play to make it easier to swallow stuff?

I have this one nasty tasting pill that's really hard to swallow, but I'm able to get it down cause it's kinda small

vitamins on the other hand are the troublemaker - I keep having to spit it out and have wasted several of them
