My cell phone, internet and cable bills were a little ridiculous. I was paying:

Cable/Road Runner: $136
Cell Phone with Data: $114 (with taxes)
Total: $250

So now I got a mobile Samsung Q1U with an Asus Skype phone with a Spring Broadband card for my day time calls (even works well in the car). And kept the minimum $29.99 plan for emergencies. Since I have the Spring broadband connection card I put it in my desktop when I get home. With that I get all my content online running through Windows Media Center.

Now I pay monthly
Sprint Broadband: $65
Phone: $34
Skype: $2.95
Total: $101.95

Saving about $148.05 a month. Should pay for the equipment I bought to do it in about 4 months

you're going to be pissed on july 1st when sprint caps the data plan that is "unlimited" to 5gb and your plan goes to crap

so the basics of it is you don't have cable anymore...thats pretty much the price difference in what you were paying vs what you are paying now.

you could have just scrapped your cable, bought cheap broadband, and opted for a cheaper cell plan (that one you had was stupid expensive) and still be saving $140ish. Then you wouldn't have to keep up with this card and carry it around with you everywhere you go, and you would have 24X7 connectivity at home. imo the only reason to do what you did is if you make a lot of international calls

I did keep the cell phone with mobile to mobile and night calls. I don't need 24x7 connectivity at home and the broadband card kind of justifies what I do because I work remotely a lot. So I kind of have more freedom.

Hopefully they don't cap the usage then yeah I'd be fucked because I'm doing a lot of downloading and work stuff through my VPN. I broke 5 GB in 2 days

Yeah we'll see luckily that will violate my terms of service and i'm on a 30 day trial anyway

Too bad working for Verizon doesn't get me better hookups with them.

I made them set me up for a trial of it got the connection stick for free and am not under contract. I'll at least keep it until next month.
