All Regal theaters (xroads, north hills, raleigh grande...etc) will be handing out Wall-E watches (while supplies last).

They are basically livestrong bands with a tiny LCD time display and wall-e logo..

I'm sure kids will think its cool. I mean, other cartoons won't be giving out free watches

it seems like an apocalyptic beginning would be likely. I mean, in the previews the robot is digging through the rubble of a seeming deserted world.

Just watched the trailer again. "Mankind has left Earth and left the cleanup to this robot."

My God, the animation looks incredible.

i read that the filmmakers watched the entire body of work of both keaton and chaplin

since most of the movie doesn't have dialogue

I really wasn't interested in Cars or Ratatouille. I eventually got around to seeing them and they were ok, nothing earth shattering. I've got the same vibe about Wall-E. I'll get around to seeing it. In the meantime, it's just funny to watch the people that structure their hopes, dreams, and lives around seeing it (over-exaggeration, sure)... just like the new Batman movie. Deemed the greatest movie of our generation before it even comes out, and you have people in their 20s quoting snippets from the trailer every 5 minutes just like they were 10 years old.

I guess I'm just jaded on movies these days.

My girlfriend flips out and tears my arm to shreds whenever a commercial for this movie comes on because she thinks that damn robot is so cute.

Mine is fairly reserved and can discuss Shakespeare at length and talks about experimental theater all the time...and then a commercial comes on and she screams "ZOMG he's the cutest robot ever!!!!"

She's right, though.

When are you kids going?

I want to see it Friday, but I want to avoid children.

Part of me thinks that one of the midnight showings would be best for that, but I have no idea.

What's so great about Andrew Stanton? It looks like the only other thing he has directed was Finding Nemo. He's also done writing and producing on other Pixar movies. I mean, that's cool and all, but I'm not gonna cream my jeans over him directing this movie.

That said, I'm very excited about it and will be seeing it friday.
