i used to live on a rural route until around '92

back in nam there were tons of rural routes

Back in the 80's and early 90's I was the only one in my whole school that listened to Hank Williams, but everybody is into it now. He's not the fad that Johnny Cash became when he died, but his music is better.

You may have an argument there. Johnny had a presence that I don't think Hiram possessed, but when you look at his songwriting they're pretty neck and neck.

JR's more obscure stuff is definitely better than his more popular stuff (San Quentin, the Wall, etc). I was pretty ambivalent to the OMG Johnny Cash is so great now that he is dead! Crowd. I wasn't aware that Hank had become a fad though.
