^^^dnl, the money goes back into the resource. public boat ramps, pay for wildlife officers who enforce laws that preserve the resource, etc. it's only $15 man.

we have this discussion constantly lol

but what if there were no laws and some people went in there and took out all the fish so that there was no point in fishing it anymore?

would you agree that there should be laws to prevent this and maintain the resource for everyone?

in a fantasy society, yes, but then all the people who don't fish bitch and moan about paying taxes to support something they don't use.

so it's just a tax on those who will actually use what the tax is used for.

[Edited on June 29, 2008 at 5:06 PM. Reason : wildlife ramps are pretty nice and totally worth it to me (you'd understand if you had a boat)]

seems like if they collected an extra half penny from all the citizens, it could be funded...who would argue about half a cent?

but i do see your point

you'd be surprised man.

remember the LGBT fiasco? it was more than half a cent, but people don't like paying for things they don't use.

i got lifetime sportsman's licenses for christmas when i was 16. was $500 but i feel it's more than worth it. i can fish, hunt, and trap as long as i live.

it's totally worth $15. that's probably less than you'd spend on drinks one saturday night.
