From what a friend was telling me recently the wind needs to be both strong and steady. We rarely get strong enough wind and gusting winds = fail. I know you won't be able to do it locally under anything but rare conditions. CarZin will know for sure.

Talk to me or humandrive. I know we have some threads in the Lounge about it.

I have actually wondered about Jordan Lake myself. I know it gets crowded during the summer time and can be gusty with the trees around.

I wouldn't mind taking a trip to the coast, but I was wondering if anyone local had the equipment and know how... lessons at the coast are upwards of 400$. I was thinking, gas, a place to stay, and some beer would be a good deal for someone off here... I'd like to eventually get my own equipment, but I wanted to try it out before I drop 1600$ on a setup.

just checked the wind and weather report, looks like Jordan blows constant over 10 mph. That should be enough with a large kite correct?

If you're starting out its easier to start where its shallow with no waves like the outer banks. Lessons are quite a rip off. The dude talked for a while and by the time we got the kite up we only each got to try it for maybe 15 minutes. I had a kiteboard, harness, board but am moving and couldn't bring it with me. I still have a board with bindings and handlebar though and can take pictures and will sell it if you are interested.

This board was bought about a year ago and it was bought new along with the bindings and straps along with the handle bar. I had to put the screws into the handle bar farther outside the designated holes because it did not fit the board but its on there now and if you don't like how its on there you can always just unscrew it. One of the bindings is coming off the board a little even though I never used it but it can be fixed easily with a little adhesive. The board with everything on it cost around 200$ but I'd be willing to let it go for 90$.
