Have you ever been looking through a website and found a random photo of you or your friend on the internet?
My best friend (and old roommate) sent me an email with a link to a flickr page of someone who took a picture of him and posted it online. He has no idea who took the picture or really when it was taken He only knew about it because a friend of his stumbled on it somehow.
While some of the comments say its a violation of privacy he doesn't really care and is kinda flattered someone wanted to take his picture.
Quote : | "He probably doesn't know that he's on flickr now, for the world to see, or does he? Just like the girl "reflecting". They are both well photographed, but *I* personally would still not like to find my photograph taken unasked and shown to the world to see, and even to comment upon." |
Now to irritate him, the photo in question: http://flickr.com/photos/bekins/2432208867/7/7/2008 10:23:20 PM |

I once saw a picture of myself on webshots. I was at a concert and was looking for some pictures from the event, and I found one where I was standing in the background.

I still wonder why in the hell people think they have any 'privacy' when they go out in public, or why some people have these notions that it's illegal to take pictures of some things that everyone can see.
Nearly all of the misconceptions most people have about the 'legal stuff' about photography seem to be grounded in what that person opposes , like their desires make something illegal.
I read the guys comment, and I may comment later. Seriously, 'legal' issues for taking a picture in public? Good lord, his head is really far up his ass.

yea, my buddy doesn't really care about the legal issues and realizes that even if he did there probably isn't anything he can do about it. but he does think it would be courteous to at least ask if someone wants to take their photo, or if they want to put it on the internet. 7/9/2008 7:12:13 PM |
