So what’s an election season without a recount?
Monday night, WRAL noticed a stunning number of votes pouring in for our “Sweetest 16,” our fantasy bracket of the best teams in ACC men’s basketball history.
But something didn’t seem right, as some fans even mentioned on fan message boards. By Tuesday morning, WRAL.com technicians discovered one computer had voted approximately 10,000 times in each poll, vastly skewing the results. No other computer had voted at that pace.
Time for a recount.
So out went the hanging chads, and the new results are in.
The official totals now:
- 1982 North Carolina beats 1986 Duke by 6,452 to 3,053.
- 1991 Duke beats 2002 Maryland 5,305 to 4,406
- 1992 Duke beats 1977 Carolina, 4,876 to 4,547
- 1993 Carolina beats 1983 N.C. State, 5,231 to 3,949
- 1974 N.C. State beats 1984 Carolina, 5,302 to 4,247
- 2005 Carolina beats 1999 Duke 5,433 to 3,855
- 1957 Carolina beats 1974 Maryland 5,099 to 4,273
-1973 N.C. State beats 2001 Duke, 5,966 to 3,268.
So, on to the quarterfinals of the Sweetest 16. Voting will continue through Wednesday at 11 a.m., and then we will announce the finals." |

i don't know what schools he's affiliated with, probably not even UNC, but I can only assume he is responsible for this bullshit recount...its a damn online poll, we have a good engineering school to teach us how to overcome their journalism...then they basically say "no fair" 7/8/2008 2:40:03 PM |
