I drove by that shitty stadium when I was in Detroit. Its pretty sad though. I remember when Cecil Fielder use to drop bombs on the upper deck roof all the time. Who was that SS/2B combination?? Trammel and Whitaker?? 7/10/2008 1:44:24 PM |

They don't need to stop with the stadium. Just clear the whole city and try again. 7/10/2008 2:18:06 PM |

Billy Crystal used Tiger Stadium to portray Yankee Stadium in the HBO film 61*. They came in and made the stands have the signature look that Yankee Stadium has, the white frieze and all.

Yeah, they need to do a real-life Robocop clearing of that city. 7/10/2008 2:33:00 PM |

I just got from visiting some friends in Detroit. It's got some rough parts, but as a whole, I was expecting much worse. There's actually some decent, dare I say nice, spots in and around downtown.
Comerica Park, Greektown, the MGM grand casino (really all the casinos), Henry Ford Museum ... there's a lot less shittiness in that town than people realize. They've also got these Mongolian BBQ grills that are the shit. BP's Mongo Bongo or something like that. 7/10/2008 3:07:14 PM |

^ Yeah. A lot of these tools have probably never even been to the Motor City and make the empty jabs at it to compensate for something or another... 7/10/2008 3:51:22 PM |

I've been there...and I've talked a lot of shit about it too.
I mean...every big city is going to have some nice parts to it. Its impossible not to. And the really "great" cities have some really really shitty parts too. But overall, as a whole compared to other big cities in America, Detroit is a shithole. 7/10/2008 3:54:36 PM |
