i've been listening to the mixtape from the first link.I forgot how in the late 90's how everyone used the same sample of "YEAH!" in like every song.also the not-so-judicious use of the echo effect. and then when the power of "YEAH!" and echo combined, awesomeness ensued.takes me back to the dorm days.]]

i read a blog post or something recently where they went in on some original samples like that "yeah" sound, or a certain drum sound that has been ubiquitous throughout hiphop over the yearsill try and re-find it, very interesting readthese are great tapes though, ill try and remember to bttt it on thursdays when they post themgreat for throwing on around the house while you're doing bullshit and taking you back a decade and a half

I have, and always will, hate it when DJs make mixtapes. I enjoy the rapping to a certain extent...but can't get over my disdain for the DJ's shouting out at the beginning and during the songs.
