You have to eat at least 4 of them to feel somewhat nourished
So it kinda defeats the fucking purpose, doesn't it ?

I find those snack packs pretty horrible...and extremely unsatisfying in relation to quantity.
I've completely given up "snacks" under 100 calories...meaning chocolate/sweets things that are suppose to be high in fat and calories that use artificial sweeteners and other additives to knock these numbers down (and also reducing the quantity/size). It's bullshit...and overall isn't really healthy to begin with.
As I've gotten older and my metabolism and incrementally started to slow down...I've learned that you really can't "cheat." 7/15/2008 7:09:29 PM |

i've never paid attention to calories except for when i'm exercising cuz the machine displays it. i just look at fat and sugar content to determine whether its edible.
that being said, i eat a lot of oatmeal, beans, bagels, yogurts, and soups.

I don't know about the grapefruit, but a whole honeydew or cantaloupe is going to be way more than 100 calories. Probably in the 200 range. Still very reasonable though.

counting calories is stupid. Your body needs a certain amount per day for normal functioning.
If people actually exercised on a regular there would be no need for diets and 'watching what u eat' 7/15/2008 7:36:56 PM |

^^^^^ yea im pretty sure a whole grapefruit is less than 100 calories even at a decent size. but youre probably right on the other ones. still 200 calories of melon > 100 calories of "cookies"

a 6-7" honeydew is 448
a 4.5" grapefruit is 106. 7/15/2008 7:44:22 PM |

Almost exclusively unless you are a pro athlete people count calories as a ceiling to daily consumption not as an intake floor to ensure they get their proper daily energy needs7/15/2008 7:58:10 PM |

Oh bullshit. Exercise and diet go hand in hand. If a fat person adds exercise without addressing their diet problems one of the following will likely happen: - They lose weight. - They don't lose weight, but they stop gaining weight. - They become ill or injured because their bullshit diet was only able to sustain them while they were being sedentary.
If what you said was true then there would be a lot of emaciated people in the world. It's not like your body is going to burn fat while you are overweight and then just stop burning the fat as soon as you are a healthy weight. Calorie intake/usage is just an equation that happens to have a lot of factors. You're either taking in too many, not enough, or just the right amount. That's why diet plays an equal role to exercise.
