ME! I was born at the old Rex, while they were packing up and moving (summer 1980). Same hospital where my dad was born, and my brother & sister, and my wife. I went to Lacy, Daniels, and Broughton. My dad went to Lacy and Broughton, too; Lacy was brand-new when he started going. Before that he went to Underwood, on Glenwood Avenue. Damn, that was over 50 years ago.

In one of my classes we played a game once to determine who was born the farthest from the classroom. I was the first person to sit down. When asked where I was born, I said "corner of St. Mary's and Wade."

When folks ask where I'm from, I jsut tell them Raleigh.

I've lived here since 1993.

I was born in 84. I have no accent, dad was in the military, and I tend to not like answering those kinds of banalities, so I give the quickest answer to avoid questions that's still more-or-less truthful.
