if they included the yards returned on all those interceptions he's thrown he would be #1.

He's the college version of Jake Delhomme

They both suck, but you've really got no better options

so you just have to deal with it

I'm too lazy to find the list, but I'd love to know how far he can move up with a decent season. It would be pretty funny if he ended up in the top 5 after all the shit he's gotten (although it would still probably pale in comparison to what Stone/Davis got).

evans is exactly like jake delhomme. they both just throw up jumpballs. sometimes it works, a lot of times it doesn't.

Evans' main problem a lot of the time seems to be his strength and not getting the ball far enough or in there hard enough...Delhomme and Grossman have a lot more arm strength

im not a big evans guy but it hasnt been all of his fault. i read an article about all the injuries he has had and he had the same surgery that Brees had last year.

if you dont have time to throw the ball you will get hit too much and either get sacked or throw picks so its not all on him

7th in most passing yards. Where does he rank in turnover margin (ints and fumbles lost)?

I think Evan's is a good little QB...he just doesn't have the arm strength to make a lot of throws...which limits our offense.

But I think he's smart, a good decision maker, and can throw a good ball...just not with a lot of zip. He's not unathletic either, and can make some plays on his feet every now and then.

So until Glennon or someone else steps up big time, I'm not going to cry about Evans being our starter. He's not that bad.

Good decision maker? Are you fucking kidding me? Evans if probably one of the worst decision makers out there.

he is also a terrible quarterback.

Also, Evans is not an athletic quarterback. He's slower than Steve Beuerlein and that is saying a lot. He is slower than his fucking offensive linemen for chrissakes.

Regardless of arm strength, you can't call someone that consistently throws easy pick 6s a good decisionmaker. Maybe he doesn't force as many bad throws downfield trying to make plays that aren't there as other QBs on the roster, but throwing picks in the flats for easy touchdowns is hardly good decisionmaking.

^^I agree that he's pretty good for a guy that wasn't expected to play, but that's still no reason for him to start. But I'll bet he'll end up the starter this year anyway

I think most of his interceptions are a result of him not having the arm strength to make throws. So I guess that makes it a bad decision...but at the same time...he's not Harrison Beck throwing for 30 interceptions in one half. I guess he's a good decision maker compares to the rest of our QB's...which isn't saying much.

And he might not be a scrambling QB...but he's more athletic than Rivers.

This stat is just one of those deceptive ones, it shouldn't be read to far into.

He has a decent amount of starts(17) and has probably played in 20 or so games. He throws tons of picks and puts us behind in games which makes him have to pass even more. Plus I don't think NCSU is like a BYU QB production machine, outside of Rivers we are generally happy when the ball is incomplete vs. being caught by the other team.

Interceptions could be seen as deceiving as well. You have balls tipped on the line, droped passes, balls that come out as you get hit...all of which go down as an int, none of which you can *blame* on the QB...and all of which happened last year.

he is not a D1 QB, in my opinion.
He has shown what he can do already.

We don't know how a couple of the new guys will respond to "game" situations. you can't count practice and you can't count the spring game which was boring.

We've already seen what Evans can do in a game.

Why not start someone who has never played in a game and see what they can do?
What have we got to lose? we were already picked to finish last in our division anyway.

I support whoever is starting. I kind of hope that's Russell Wilson. Truthfully we need mobility at the QB position right now to hide our o-line's generally terrible protection. They might be more improved this year, but I won't expect the o-line TOB is truly known for until his 3rd or perhaps even 4th year. By then perhaps Wilson will be drafted by MLB and Glennon can take over as a RS-SO. Then we'll have a 3 year Glennon era.

Who are you...Allen Iverson??

Hell yeah you can count practice. Coaches do it all the damn time. If the guy isn't playing well in practice, what makes you think he'll play well in a game?? There's a reason why Evans has had so many starts the last two years.

I love this shit. The coaching staff have seen our QBs take more snaps than you'll ever see. They know what they're doing. Our best QB will be on the field.

exactly right, they will put the best QB on the field
and i can guarantee you that Evans will not be starting.

and i meant, a guy can look AWESOME during practice but during a real game when guys are actually trying to pound you, they look like a deer in headlights

Jay Davis was the perfect example of a practice quarterback that sucked on game day. The only difference between Evan's and Davis is that Davis was bigger and more capable of taking a hit.

Wilson's mobility, and our potential running game with the RBs we have could be a good combination. If we can block and get a running game going whatever qb is back there will be alright, but if we have to throw 30 times a game, forget it.

I blame it on bad luck that most of Evans' passes were pick sixes. Usually int's. result in the player getting tackled in the secondary, but his always seem to be out passes that a defender would swoop under and then have no one around to tackle him.

^the problem is he doesnt have the arm strength to throw the out route the way it should be thrown, thus giving defenders time to jump the route, so technically it really is his fault that they end up pick 6's

a lot of good receivers have gone to waste b/c of our lack of a good QB

Tramain Hall practically disappeared after P.Rivers left.
and remember Sterling Hicks and Brian Williams? hardly ever got any touches

it's a shame we couldn't get them the ball more
