I don't know how it could be the new goth, seem like different kinds of people would do the emo and goth thing than steampunk.

Goth and emo kids are depressed, while steampunk sounds more nerdy than anything.

If anything I would say that Steampunk is the new "Renaissance fair"

As somebody who is still in the goth club scene, steampunk is definitely showing up more often. Of course, this is still in between the vampires, pirates, ren faire, hardcore, emo, gravers, and other random stuff. I'm trying to single-handedly bring back cyberpunk, but without the hair extensions, I might have a long uphill battle.

So long as loli never dies, I'm okay.
