Is anyone else going? I just bought a $40.00 ticket. Six hours of drinking and eating. I have been told it will bee 60 beers, 30 Bourbons, BBQ, and Cigars. I didn't know about this until my brother in-law told me.

[Edited on July 22, 2008 at 8:08 PM. Reason : typo! "60" beers]

So how long do you think it will be until people discover this event and it starts to sell out in 2 hours like the World Beer Fest?

it's run by a different company in raleigh. the same one that caters for the railhawks and other sporting events...i know this bc my gf has an interview with them thursday. Classic Sports Catering is their name i believe.

[Edited on August 5, 2008 at 10:31 PM. Reason : i may be wrong but i know they cater for the koka booth which is where this thing is]

That too is my b-day.

PS - Also, that's the same day that Jerry Garcia, may God rest his soul, died.

yeah, it looks like the company that ran it in Charlotte, mooreamarketing, isnt running the one here. Go to the "event and promotions" section of their website:

So the online rumor was wrong. I was unlimited bourbon. I'm just now starting to sober up. The Sierra Nevada was great!

It was ok.. nothing great.

It was really crowded, and a lot of vendors ran out of handouts very early. They were completely out of bbq by 4:30. I'm not sure I would go back again.

^I would have liked to see about 10, or 20 more beers on the list. It also would have been nice to have more food stands, so you didn't have to wait in line for 30 minutes to get a cheese burger.

Yes. I was under the impression there would be more than 2 bbq vendors there. I read at least 5 or something. And the portions they were dishing out were VERY small.
